Twinkling H2O's

Lucky me won a free seat at Craft Classes Online a few months ago and the class was Twinkling H2O's which started last week.

Our first lesson covered getting to know your H2O's and trying them out on different papers. It was quite funny as I had just found a brand new box of 12 H2O's in one of my local charity shops for £2.25 so I was ready to play !!

First I tried a water colour wash of two colours on water colour paper and then a marble effect onto plain card

Me being me had to now make them into something, so they changed into these....

Not bad for a first play........

Sneak Peek ?????

............this is a naughty sneak peek of just one of the soon to be released new stamps from Little Claire called "Penguin Hugs "  Isn't it cute !!

I've made a shaker card and used some flower soft for the snow inside with glitter.   I embossed my card and the frame with dots then glittered them with stickles,  its super sparkly in real life  !!

All the new release stamps will be for sale on 2nd Sept !!

Oh my.....OTT

Well I did warn you !!    I wanted some chain for another piece I am working on and found a horrible necklace ( well I thought it was horrible)  in a charity shop for £1, well I got left with this huge stone and a smaller one and couldn't throw it away......

I'm also playing with foil tape, the kind you buy from Wicks or B&Q   God knows what you are suppose to use it for in DIY...

Anyhoo.....I decided to marry the two together and made this metal effect bling Christmas card !!  The stones look very brown, but their not, it just the light....

The tape is sticky backed so you just cover a piece of card with it, run it through an embossing folder, paint it with black acrylic paint, then rub off as much as you like to get the pewter colour effect.  the flowers I just die cut, but didn't paint so they stayed shiny.

Well there never be another card like it............

Nicki and Jess

Morning peeps !!

Nights have been a bit chilly of late and are beginning to draw in, had to get my woolies out........hay ho !!

It was scrap club and few weeks ago at my local craft centre and I took along my friend Nicki for the first time. Nicki has been a scrapper in past and now mainly does card making.

The theme was "Happy " and Nicki didn't know I was using a photo of her and her super cute cat called Jess which she had sent me. Jess came with the house Nicki bought !!

We are all given a basic kit and lay out idea which you can play around with or not as you like. I kept to the basic lay out design and just added a bit of my own.

With some of the scraps of paper we made flowers, but had the two felt flowers in our kit.

The lay out has a pull out tag to add more photo's and journling.

I didn' have any more photo's so Nicki dropped me in a few more of Jess. They are wonderful as Nicki is taking a photo course at the moment.

Actually I am very pleased with my blog photo's and love my lay out of them both !!

Last one

 of my Dylusion ink backgrounds...

Hope this puts a smile on your face as it's sooooooo me...I might start off with a craft idea, but never know where I'm going with it and what I will end up with !!

Again swooshed my inks with water to make the background, then used a Tim Holtz splatter mask.  Also used "Whassup? Who Me" / "Hippetty Hoppetty"/"Create" stamp sets by Lindsay Mason.  Fussy cut out my boy and mounted him on 3d foam tape ( I'm not keen on flat cards and I really ought to have shares in Woodware as I buy alot of their tape because its the best !!)

Prima Doll

I fell in love with the Prima dolls as soon as I saw them .  They bring back memories of my childhood of getting my weekly mag and cutting out the paper doll with her clothes that had little tabs on so you could dress her up !!   Boy they were the days !!

Plus as you know I love paper piecing, so her is my first card with a Prima Doll and I've made a tag shaped christmas card.

Now I will admit things didn't go to plan.......my green crackle paint went pink ,  think I should have primed my card first, but hay ho just went with it !!

The sparkle doesn't show up, but the tress and Jingle Bells have been covered with stickles and the berries on the dolls dress. I've also used frantage chunky white embossing enamel which makes great snow and die cut the flowers and leaves.

Thank Whoo

I've been playing with the watercolour background Francoise Read from Woodware demonstrated on Saturday at my local craft centre.

Hero Art's have a video showing the same background technique HERE if you would like to try it yourself.

My friend Tracy knows I love owls and this fab Papermania Urban Stamp was a present from her .

For my first card I've used three distress ink colours to make the background and then used the same colours to colour my owl.

Here's a bit closer view so you can see the sutle leaves I have stamp on the background as well.

Francoise used finger daubers to add colour and so did I. It's strange how on the first card the colours bled out more and on the other two I ended up with dots of colour which I love as well as they remind me of smarties !!

Well you have to admit, 3 very different and very colourful " Thank whoo " cards !!

My friend Nicki came with me to the demo and she has some fab photo's of Francoise cards on her blog !!

Two more....

My word did it rain yesterday !! I was at my local craft centre AMOM in the morning as Francoise Read from Woodware had come to demo in the morning and held a master class in the afternoon. I love Francoise work as her colouring is amazing and stamp images are such fun  !!  Driving home was terrible becausse it was raining so hard you couldn't see all the flooding till you hit it !!

Anyway sharing with you two more cards made with this months Sunflower Little Claire stamp club set.

Lots of my usual fussy cutting to decoupage the sunflowers on this easel card, coloured in with Spectrum Noir pens and finished with a big gingham bow !!

Now when is a sunflower not a sunflower.....when you colour it red it looks like a gerbra to me !!

What do you think then ??

A simple kraft card with lace and pearls ( I did say I was into my pearls at mo ) and another big bow to finish off !!

I love this set and have had a ball with my repeat stamping and fussy cutting to create this 3D shadow box card which does fold down flat for posting !!

I have just used the little scene stamp, die cut a couple of trees and fence, stamped and fussy cut out the one sunflower, faux stitching coloured in  using Spectrum Noir pens  and finished off with a big gingham bow !!

My second  make is this cute corner bookmark.

A bright and cheerful gift for any book lover !!
