I nearly always like to finish off my cards with faux stitching and as you can see I have done rather alot of it on my slider card, even on the blanket that Tobey is sitting on !! Mixed lot of papers and sentiment stamps from my stash and have used promarkers to colour in with.
very cold, breezy, rain and then yesterday afternoon abit of warm sunshine !!
Just crazy !!
Hope you peeps are having loads of fun this bank holiday weekend !! If you want some more fun why not join in our " Birds" challenge at Robyns Fetish !! Its being sponsored by Fred She Said with a prize of 3 digiital stamps of the winners choice from the Fred She Said store
I amazed myself with my colouring in of the Blue Jay !! Don't laugh I had to look it up to see what colours it was DOH ....I think the hint was in the name.
Anyway started off by using a shaped white card blank from craftwork cards, then cut a square piece of white card and embossed it and edged with blue promaker and mounted onto card front. Printed my Blue Jays image several times so I could fussy cut loads of the flowers and leaves. Coloured all the images using promarkers as usual. Mounted my main image onto another piece of white card which I had already done a blue border round and then foam mounted this onto the embossed panel. Then arranged all my flowers and leaves round my main image.
To make my patchwork backing paper, I cut 1" squares of paper from four colours of the same patterened paper and then glued them onto my card adding some faux stitching. My "In The Garden" image was coloured in using my fab promarkers to match my backing paper. The "Grateful" quote was stamped using a Stampin Up stamp. Finished off with making a pink ribbon bow with another of the flower heads from the image.
Thanks you ladies for inviting me to join you this week at
A fun birthday card, but how many times have we said this girls .......
To make my sunray effect backing paper I have used three different kraft papers by Craftwork Cards and inked the edges using a distress ink. Then pleated a strip from one of the papers to put along the bottom. Added a piece of velvet ribbon and then coloured a very thin strip of white card to match the cat and glued it on top. The cat was coloured in using promarkers and then decoupaged. Stamped the letters to make up my sentiment onto white card then coloured in cream using a promarker and then out lined eack letter with a black pen and cut out. The fab wood embelishments I was lucky enough to win from HobbyCutz , check them out !!
My little book is only 1 1/2" x 2 1/2" and is held closed by a belly band. Made the bottle top charm which has Benson "Bundle of Hearts" digi image in. That's what I love about digi stamps you can have then any size !!
Inside I have a lovely friendship poem and have also used another Benson digi called "Just For You". I've printed off the flower over and over again in different sizes.
All the images have been fussy cut out and coloured in with good old promarkers, added a bit of lovely pink velvet ribbon and a few beads to finish off !!
The girls have loads more inspiration for you over at
I really did have fun making my card as I love fussy cutting and making a scene !!
Printed the sand dune and palm trees onto a piece of A4 white card and coloured with promarkers. The cut it into 4 pieces and distressed the edges with tearing and a knife. Then on another piece of white card printed all the other images in several sizes and also coloured in with promarkers and then fussy cut each one out. Arranged them onto my 4 panels to make the scene and glued in place. Then stuck the 4 panels onto a piece of kraft card which I had also torn the edges and distressed with a knife. Finished off by stamping the Yo Ho Ho and Happy Birthday Captain along the bottom and then tied it up with a piece of distressed ribbon hopeing it looked like a pirates treasure map !!
Well you won,t be able to buy one of these in the shops, its one of a kind !!
Check out our challenge and what the rest of the girls have to show you at
I've had lots of fun using lots of layers with this one. Used Marianne dies to cut fences, tress, ivy and birds. Stamped each letter out to make my sentiment and hand drew round each letter with a black pen. Coloured "Me And My Cat" in with promakers and made a cloud background and hand drew the grass. To finish just added a few die cut clouds and a peg !!
One smashing card for any little man in your life !!
Check it all out now and see what the rest of the team have to show you over at
There are times when simple is best and this was one for me with my card using "Ms Birdie"
This is a super cute image which I have paper pieced using papers from a you to me pack called "Spring Chic" I fussy cut the bird out and 3d her onto my card front. Then matted and layered four different papers from the same paper pack and did my usual faux stitching round each layer. The sentiment is two stamps from a Little Claires stamp set.
